JavaScript is a programming language that is often used by Web browsers to provide enhanced user interfaces and dynamic websites. JavaScript is an important part of FilesDIRECT and if, for whatever reason, JavaScript has been turned off in your browser, then FilesDIRECT will not work properly.

Here's what you do:

  1. Open Google Chrome
  2. Click on the "Tools" icon in the upper right-hand corner of the screen (it looks like a wrench)
  3. Select "Options", then click "Under the Hood"
  4. Click on "Content Settings" to open the "Content Settings" window
  5. Click "JavaScript" in the "Features" section of the window. The "JavaScript Settings" window will open
  6. Select "Allow all sites to run JavaScript"
  7. Click "Close" to save changes and close the window
JavaScript is now turned on in Google Chrome!

What do I do if my firewall or proxy server is blocking FilesDIRECT?

If you think your firewall or proxy server security settings might be keeping you from accessing FilesDIRECT, go into the settings and make an exception for the following URLs:

app.filesdirect.com/styles/upload.css
app.filesdirect.com/styles/styles/admin/style.css
app.filesdirect.com/styles/Javascript/jquery-latest.js
app.filesdirect.com/clienturl
app.filesdirect.com/clienturl
app.filesdirect.com/default.aspx?comp=<the name of your upload page>
app.filesdirect.com/WebResource.axd
app.filesdirect.com/images/
www.filesdirect.com/clientlogos

That should fix things right up!

When I receive instructions on how to have a client send me large files. I
have not received anything on the "Website" for my clients to access.

Tim

Hi Tim,

Great question! When you signed up for FilesDIRECT, you were asked to pick a URL for your FilesDIRECT page. That URL is the address for your public upload page. Just give that address to your clients, and they can use that page to upload files to you.

Please let us know if you have any further questions!
